My experience as a Science Research Specialist in the socio-economics division of a Philippine government agency has been a truly enlightening and rewarding journey. From the moment I joined, I knew that I had it in my heart to leave a positive impact on the lives of fellow Filipinos.
My role focused on studying the intricate interplay between scientific knowledge and socioeconomic factors. I worked in a diverse and interdisciplinary team, collaborating with economists, sociologists, statisticians, and policy experts. Together, we aimed to generate evidence-based research and policy recommendations that would guide decision-makers in addressing socioeconomic challenges faced by our country.
One of the most fulfilling aspects of my experience was the opportunity to work on research projects that examined the social and economic implications of various policies and interventions. Whether it was analyzing the impact of agricultural reforms on rural livelihoods or assessing the effectiveness of poverty alleviation programs, each project allowed me to contribute to the development of informed policies that could uplift marginalized communities.
